Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the role of company size and growth to business risk of logistics companies registered in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) period 2013 - 2017. The main problem of the study was the increasing business risk of logistics companies. This research used quantitative method, descriptive and inferential statistics with path analysis. There were 18 companies with five-year observation period taken with a purposive sampling technique that resulted to 90 samples. The result shows that the size of the company could not increase the risk of logistics companies’ business registered in IDX, however, the size could increase company’s growth. The size of the company has implication to the increased risk of logistics companies registered in the IDX.

Abstract

Export rejection has become an issue of concern for both exporting and importing countries. Rejection of food exports that occur directly or indirectly resulted in losses experienced by many parties. The purposes of this research were to identify the factors that play a role in the calculation of the estimated economic losses due to the rejection of export food and estimated the value of the economic losses. The commodities studied were tuna, shrimp, and nutmeg. While the export destination studied were the United States, the European Union, and Japan. The method used in this research was survey and descriptive analysis. The calculation of the estimated economic losses was done by using the equation obtained from the result of a literature study and data collection. Components that contribute to the calculation of estimated losses due to a rejection of Indonesian exports consist of the loss of sales and related activities on communication, testing and retesting, transportation and execution. The highest economic losses based on data from the three years (2014-2016) was on tuna that was estimated at US$3.01 million per year by the rejection from the United States. The transportation cost contributed to the highest loses as much as 59% or US$2.4 million per year.

Abstract

Cars are one of the needs of modern humans today. However, car price fluctuations are influenced by several factors, one of which is the supply chain factor. The supply chain in the delivery of a car has a share in these fluctuations. So the efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain in shipping Honda cars need to be considered. This study aims to model the supply chain routes of Honda cars. This study uses the object delivery of Honda cars using the Agent Based method. The results of this study are the visualization and evaluation of Honda car supply chain route. The expectation of this research is become a consideration for companies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of shipments.

Abstract

The increasing population in Bandar Lampung has an impact on the increasing traffic congestion. The discussion of the causes of congestion in other studies focuses on the social aspects and there is no comprehensive discussion to determine the main parameters of the congestion causes related to the position of parameters of the body on the road. The study aims to determine the main parameters causing congestion on the collector road related to the position of the parameters of the body on the road using the smallest square modeling. The study took the data from the traffic lights coordinate, railroad tracks, bends, turns, and commercial areas as well as coordinates from the road lines and Google traffic volume. The traffic volume data was taken in the morning, afternoon, and evening on weekdays and weekends for one week. Classification of the congestion causes was based on 65 mathematical equations that were calculated using the smallest square. The congestion happens more likely on weekdays than on weekends. Furthermore, more congestion occurs at night than during the day. The traffic lights are the main parameter causing traffic jams followed by railroad tracks and turns. The rounds with less than 100 meters distance from the traffic lights are recommended to be closed because they cause congestion the most.

Abstract

Upgrading service in terminal by doing performance evaluation services based on terminal minimum service standard is the purpose of this research. The research was conducted in Merak integrated terminal. The research used quantitative descriptive method with 176 people as samples. The data was analysed using Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) dan Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The first result can be concluded that the value of satisfaction of Merak integrated terminal services is 70,98%. The second result can be concluded that the level of suitability of Merak integrated terminal services does not meet the expectation of service users. The third, it can be concluded that the top service priority improvement consists of clean and odorless toilets, internet network facilities, charging battery facilities, disable facilities, parking lots, green open spaces and facilities for nursing mothers and babies.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the corruption perception index and business risk on the growth of sea transport companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange period 2013 - 2017. The growth of the open sea transport companies has decreased. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase the company’s growth. The main focus of this research is the effect of the corruption perception index mediated by business risk to the company’s growth. The study was using quantitative method with a path analysis approach. The total samples from secondary data was 65 observations from 13 companies with a 5-year observation period taken by purposive sampling technique. The study shows that there is a positive effect of business risk on the company’s growth, therefore, to increase the company’s growth, the company should increase their business risk.

Abstract

Pinisi, the name of a traditional ship from Sulawesi which has 7 to 8 of sail characteristics. The ship, which was made without using engineering methods or calculations, has sailed the ocean since the 18th century and proved to be a seaworthy ship. Mainly used as an inter-island transportation of goods which in the future loses its old function and becomes antiques used as a liveaboard type tourist ship. This tourist ship is widely used in eastern Indonesia such as Labuan Bajo, North Sulawesi, Raja Ampat and areas rich in sea beauty suitable for liveaboard. This research designed the pinisi liveaboard ship, discusses the determination of the ship main size with a Comparison method of several ship geometries such as the ratio of length and width, width and draft, etc. Trial and Error methods are used in the design of General Arrangement and Interior Design. By Comparison, Trial and Error methods, the main size of the ship is LOD = 33.0 m, B = 9 m, H = 3.5 m, T = 2.8 m, Cb = 0.591 with Vs = 9 Knots. From this dimension, General Arrangement and Interior Facility were designed and visualize.

Abstract

Trans Jogja is one of the government programs to create connectivity in Yogyakarta and the existence of the bus shelter greatly influences the range of passengers which can be optimized if it is located near the housing or public area. This study aims to (a) Identify the existing locations of Trans Jogja Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) shelters in the city, (b) Identify the range of Trans Jogja Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) passengers to the existence of bus stops, and (c) Identify the realization of the Trans Jogja Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) shelters’ development in Yogyakarta. The bus shelters’ level of density is different for each distribution area. The highest level is in the residential areas and places of activity with a percentage of 46%, followed by education areas (25.5%), government (13.4%), health (7.9%), trade (3.3%), tourism (2.9%), and the developed area (0.8%). 75% of Trans Jogja BRT users come from within the range of 0-300 meters buffer of the bus stops. The bus shelters at the center of the activity will be much easier to reach and have high accessibility, in that case the distance between bus stops is closer and the density is higher. The connection between bus stops and bus stops’ planning has a degree of interconnection of 100%. It indicates that all the bus stops planned to be developed in 2017 have been built in 2019.
